Angela New is the Hydraulics and Hydrology (H&H) Team Lead at Blackline Engineering, bringing deep expertise in water resources engineering for land development and public works projects. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources from the University of Florida.
Angela has extensive experience preparing drainage impact analyses for single-family residential communities, ensuring that developments comply with local and federal regulations while mitigating flood risks. Her work also includes managing FEMA Letters of Map Change, such as LOMR and CLOMR applications, and developing flood mitigation strategies for complex projects.
Angela’s public works experience includes designing and reviewing drainage systems for municipal infrastructure projects, conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and addressing floodplain management requirements. She has also served as a reviewer for FBCLID 12, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Angela is highly skilled in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools such as HEC-RAS and XPSWMM, delivering precise and reliable solutions. She has also developed technical standards, trained and mentored engineers, and ensured quality assurance across a wide range of initiatives.
As the leader of Blackline’s H&H division, Angela is committed to delivering innovative drainage and flood mitigation solutions while building and mentoring a strong team to achieve client success.
